Weekly Newsletter #12 - November 15, 2023
President's Corner

As Thanksgiving approaches, let's seize the opportunity to instill in our student the values of gratitude, togetherness, and appreciation for the enriching diversity in our lives. As parents, we are the guides, leading by example and teaching the true spirit of Thanksgiving—welcoming gratitude, unity, and respect. In the words of Rumi, "Wear gratitude like a cloak, and it will feed every corner of your life." This season, our unity amidst differences lays the foundation for a brighter tomorrow for our students and the generations beyond.

We are looking for volunteers to be part of the Nominating Committee for next year’s PTA Executive Board 2024-25.

The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to seek and identify qualified nominees for next year’s PTA Executive Board.  Each year, some Board members will term out of their positions (PTA bylaws allow volunteers to serve a maximum of 2 years in the same position) so the committee will help fill those.

Volunteers are needed to ensure nominees represent a diverse range of talents, perspectives and experiences.  Your role on Nominating Committee will include finding and interviewing potential candidates in January and February, and then recommending the new slate in March.

If you are interested in being a part of the Nominating Committee or if you have any questions, please email our Parliamentarian, Elizabeth Reilly, at parliamentarian@alderwoodpta.com
