SUBJECT: PTA Newsletter 10.25.23

Weekly Newsletter #9 - October 25, 2023

We have just one more week to reach our $45,000 goal for the Fall Pledge, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous contribution. Our school faces an ongoing challenge, with a considerable funding gap and escalating costs. California receives the lowest government funding for education, and, within California, Irvine ranks among the areas receiving the least for its public schools.

Our school relies on PTA donations to sustain vital school programs and bridge this funding gap. The PTA has been absorbing the rising costs, which is why we're reaching out for your support. With your help, we can ensure our students enjoy an unforgettable educational experience, including a field trip for every student at every grade level.

For our Retro Rocker and Cassette Crew students, we're in the final stages of preparing an '80s themed party, complete with games and snacks, set to take place on November 3. Stay tuned for more exciting details.

Family Fun Night is almost here and we have a couple of important reminders to ensure the event is a great success.

- Baked Goods Donation for Cake Walk:

We need your help to bring either store-bought or homemade baked goods to the PTA tent by Friday 9:00 AM.   Your tasty donation will be used during our perennial kid-favorite cake walk game and is the highlight of the evening.

- Volunteers Needed:

We need more parents to volunteer at the Family Fun Night event to ensure everything runs smoothly. It's a fantastic way to get involved and create lasting memories for our students. Your support, whether through baking or volunteering, is invaluable. SIGN UP HERE

- Be sure to check out the food trucks:

Mad Dumplings: You may recognize them from the Food Network as the BEST FOOD TRUCK IN SOCAL!

Junior’s Tacos: Watch your delicious tacos being made fresh.

Front Porch Pops: Organic, locally sourced, and yummy desserts!

Trunk or Treat Contest

Please arrive at school between 3 PM and 4 PM and park your car in the designated spot on the blacktop. As a friendly reminder, kindly avoid offering treats that contain nuts. Families are encouraged to provide individually wrapped treats and small toys. The Trunk or Treat event will commence from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.

Carved Pumpkin Contest

If you would like your student to participate in the Carved Pumpkin Contest, please drop off their creatively carved and labelled pumpkin this Friday 10/27 by 9:00 AM at the PTA tent in front of the MPR.  It's an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their talents and creativity to win cool prizes. Pumpkins should be picked up when you leave the event.
