President's Corner

Join us at the "Meet the Board" event on Friday, December 15th at 8:00 AM in the MPR to learn more.

  • Engage with current board members who will share the ins and outs of each role.
  • Find the role best suited to your skills and interest.

It's not just an event; it's a chance to shape the future of the PTA board. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to play a role in our school's journey!

This spring marks our biggest fundraiser of the year, the school Jog-a-thon. In order for this event to be successful, we need volunteers to help. There is no experience necessary.  Any help, big or small, will be greatly appreciated! Please review this form and indicate any areas you might be interested in helping.

We are looking for volunteers to be part of the Nominating Committee for next year’s PTA Executive Board 2024-25.

The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to seek and identify qualified nominees for next year’s PTA Executive Board.  Each year, some Board members will term out of their positions (PTA bylaws allow volunteers to serve a maximum of 2 years in the same position) so the committee will help fill those.

Volunteers are needed to ensure nominees represent a diverse range of talents, perspectives and experiences.  Your role on Nominating Committee will include finding and interviewing potential candidates in January and February, and then recommending the new slate in March.

If you are interested in being a part of the Nominating Committee or if you have any questions, please email our Parliamentarian, Elizabeth Reilly, at parliamentarian@alderwoodpta.com

Volunteer Spotlight - Holiday Boutique

Shoko Kadowaki relocated to California from Japan in 2013, having spent the years between the ages of 10 and 14 in the United States with her family.

Upon moving to Indiana during the fourth grade, Shoko faced the challenge of not understanding English. Fortunately, classmates' mothers would come to assist her with worksheets during class, fostering a sense of security and making her feel warmly embraced by the community. This impactful experience ignited Shoko's passion for volunteering.

In the present year, Shoko is thrilled to serve as the co-chair of the Holiday Boutique. This event offers students a distinctive shopping experience where they can select gifts for their loved ones and gain valuable lessons in budgeting.

Shoko aspires to create a joyful and memorable experience for students just before the holiday season!
